Terms and conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all work carried out by MK Sparks, the trading name of Rethink Lighting Ltd (Company No. 08834988, VAT No. 216830714), whose registered address is 222 Wolverton Road, Blakelands, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK14 5AB.

By requesting or accepting a quotation or service from us, you agree to the following terms.

1. Scope of Work

All work will be carried out in accordance with current regulations, including BS 7671 and Part P where applicable. Work is limited to that described in the agreed quotation. Any additional work requested may be subject to a separate quote and timeline.

2. Quotes & Estimates

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. All pricing is subject to VAT unless otherwise agreed in writing. Acceptance of a quote may require confirmation in writing and/or payment of a deposit.

3. Payment Terms

  • A deposit and stage payment are required for any job over £1,000.

  • Final payment is due upon completion of the work.

  • Invoices are issued at key stages or at completion and are payable within 5 days.

  • We reserve the right to charge interest or fees for late payment.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand plans can change. However, cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled work may incur a fee at our discretion to cover lost time and rescheduling costs.

5. Access & Customer Responsibilities

The client is responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the work area. This includes making sure pets, furniture, and belongings do not obstruct access to consumer units, cables, or equipment.

6. Guarantees & Warranties

  • All labour is guaranteed for 12 months from completion.

  • Parts and materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

  • Our guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party interference, or faults unrelated to our workmanship.

7. Subcontracting

On occasion, MK Sparks may use qualified subcontractors to carry out work. All subcontractors will meet the required industry standards and qualifications.

8. Liability

We are fully insured and take all reasonable care while working on your property. However, we are not liable for:

  • Existing faults or poor workmanship by others

  • Customer-supplied parts or equipment

  • Indirect or consequential losses

9. Privacy & Data Use

We collect customer data solely for the purpose of providing quotes, carrying out work, and communicating directly with the customer. This includes contact details, job-related information, and any correspondence.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please contact us directly via our [contact form]. We aim to resolve complaints quickly and fairly. Formal complaints will be acknowledged within 5 working days.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction of the UK courts.
