Common faults we deal with

Most faults are caused by shoddy DIY electrical work - loose connections, poor earthing and water ingress, we see some really shocking work day to day (pun intended) so we're well trained in spotting the cause of most problems, here's the most common faults we investigate: ✓ Tripping RCDs or circuit breakers ✓ Flickering or failed lighting ✓ Dead or intermittent sockets ✓ Faulty switches or accessories ✓ Burning smells or buzzing noises ✓ Earth leakage and neutral faults

Our Fault finding process

1. Initial Assessment: We begin with a visual inspection to spot obvious signs of damage or wear. 2. Testing: Using professional testing equipment, we check circuits, connections, and devices to pinpoint faults. Often using a process of elimination. 3. Diagnosis: We identify the exact cause of the fault, whether it’s faulty wiring, damaged components, or overloaded circuits. 4. Repair & Verification: Wherever possible, we fix the problem on the spot and test again to ensure the issue is fully resolved. 5. Pricing: We charge an hourly rate for fault finding - the first hour is priced slightly higher to cover travel and administration, with a lower hourly rate for any additional time if the job takes longer. We’ll always keep you informed and provide a clear estimate before proceeding with any repairs once the fault is discovered.

Remember, it’s always better to be cautious and get expert advice. If you’re unsure whether an issue requires a visit, don’t worry, sometimes we can guide you through simple checks over the phone and offer advice to help you decide the best next steps.
